Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you (“the client”) and Jill Churchill, Professional Celebrant at Celebrant Company (“the celebrant”). By confirming your booking, you agree to the following terms.
1. Provisional Booking
A provisional booking will reserve your chosen date for 7 days. If a deposit is not received within this period, the date will be released and made available for other clients to book.
2. Firm Booking
A firm booking is confirmed upon receipt of a deposit equal to 25% of the total agreed fee. Once this deposit is received, your date will be secured, and no other events will be booked for that day.
3. Payment of Balance
The remaining balance must be paid no later than one month before the ceremony date. For bookings made less than one month in advance, full payment will be required at the time of booking.
4. Use of Images and Testimonials
With your consent, we may use photos from your ceremony (either taken by us or shared with us) for the sole purpose of promoting our services on our website or social media. We may also request a short written testimonial. Providing photos or testimonials is entirely optional, and there is no obligation to do so.
5. Confidentiality
All personal information and ceremony content you provide will be treated as confidential. We will not disclose any details to third parties without your express consent, except for any individuals involved in preparing or delivering your ceremony.
6. Changes and Cancellations
6.1 Changes to Bookings
Requests to change the date or time of your ceremony must be submitted in writing. We will accommodate changes where possible, but they cannot be guaranteed.
6.2 Cancellations by the Client
- If you cancel within 14 days of paying your deposit, you will receive a full refund.
- After 14 days, the deposit becomes non-refundable.
Cancellation charges based on the proximity to the ceremony date are as follows:
- Within 3 months of the ceremony: 60% of the total fee
- Within 2 months of the ceremony: 80% of the total fee
- Within 1 month of the ceremony: 100% of the total fee
Any travel or accommodation costs already incurred by the celebrant will also be charged in the event of cancellation.
6.3 Cancellations by the Celebrant
In the unlikely event that the celebrant is unable to perform your ceremony, every effort will be made to find a suitable replacement celebrant. If no replacement can be found, you will receive a full refund of any fees paid.
7. Legal Requirements
For legally recognised ceremonies in England and Wales, you must fulfil the legal formalities at a Registry Office. Different legal requirements may apply in Scotland—please contact us for more information.
